English: This photograph of Armstrong Sperry, taken in 1941 when he won the Newbery Medal, was widely distributed by the author and his publisher for reproduction and publicity as the author's official headshot. It did not include a copyright notice at the time, and no application for extension of a copyright is on record, and so it is considered to be in the public domain.
