Aphelops sp. - fossil rhinoceros skeleton from the Miocene of Nebraska, USA. (public display, Nebraska State Museum of Natural History, Lincoln, Nebraska, USA) This specimen may be assignable to another fossil rhinoceros genus. From museum signage: "This specimen is the largest mounted skeleton of an American rhinoceros. Aphelops was one of the late survivors of the rhinos on this continent. The roughened area at the tip of the nasals indicates that the animal possessed a horn.
