English: Rice-fish farming is an intangible cultural heritage of the Apatani people living in the Ziro Valley of Arunachal Pradesh, in Northeast India. This indigenous agriculture is practiced in agroecosystem consisting of endless patchwork tapestries of terraced rice paddies that form the unique cultural landscape of the Apatanis. In summer, these waterlogged fields turn alive with arrays of transplanted rice sapling among hosts of released fish fingerlings.
