Summary

Description
English: This pie chart shows annual world greenhouse gas emissions, in 2005, by sector. Emissions are measured as a percentage of total world carbon dioxide equivalent emissions:
  • Electricity and heat, 24.9%
  • Industry, 14.7%
  • Transportation, 14.3%
  • Agriculture, 13.8%
  • Land use change, 12.2%
  • Other fuel combustion, 8.6%
  • Industrial processes, 4.3%
  • Fugitive emissions, 4.0%
  • Waste, 3.2%

Emissions due to land-use change include both emissions and absorptions (i.e., processes that both add to and remove carbon from the atmosphere). Emissions due to land-use change are highly uncertain.
