English: Wat Muang is located in Hua Taphan sub-district, Wiset Chai Chan district. It is presumed that the temple was constructed in the late Ayutthaya Era. In 1982, Luang Por Kasaem AjaraSupoh initiated the restoration work of the temple, as well as a creation of “Phra Phuttha Maha Nawamintara Sakayamuni Si Wiset Chai Chan”, generally known as “Luag Pho Yai”, the country’s largest Buddha statue in the subduing mara position with 95 metres in height and 63 metres in width.
The temple is home to several remarkable religious constructions, the ubosot which is surrounded by the world’s largest lotus petals, for example. The garden features figures depicting stories about hell, heaven, Thai deities, and Chinese deities, as well as historical events about Bang Rachan camp.
