Summary

Description

Amanita arkansana H.R. Rosen

Image location: Mingo Wildlife Refuge, near Puxico, Missouri, USA

Mingo Foray (the annual foray of the Missouri Mycol Soc) occurs in the southeastern corner of MO ever year in Sept or early Oct. I think I’ve seen plenty of this spp each time I’ve been. Patrick Harvey or Jay Justice may have sent you specimens of this one from there in the past. I don’t have any but could save in the future. (Most mushrooms I collect are used for the purposes of mycophagous Diptera surveys…meaning that flies come out and what’s left of the mushroom you wouldn’t recognize. And it smells bad.)
