English: Glass lantern slide used by Harold Riley in illustrated lectures about pioneer life in Calgary and southern Alberta, which he presented in Calgary schools in 1931. Alfred Ernest Cross, 1861-1932, was a rancher, owner of the Calgary Brewing and Malting Company, and one of the Big Four founders of the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede.
