DescriptionA place best avoided after dark - geograph.org.uk - 510572.jpg
English: A place best avoided after dark This gateway was the scene of the gruesome murder of William Evans, a Revenue Collector of Llennyrch Farm, a strong, 6 footer, who was waylaid and battered to death by a number of assailants who then made away with the taxes Evans had been out collecting. Evans' footsteps are still visible on the ground and quite a few people over the years have reported seeing and hearing a ghostly re-enactment of the murder as they approached this spot at nightfall.
