Summary

Description

Model: Scania T 144 530 V8 LA Euro2 6X2 (Torpedo) VIN: YS2T6X20001253652 1. Registration: 1999-11-08 Company: Svanebilerne (Martin Wahl), Stenstrup (DK) Fleet No.: - Nickname: Disneyliner License plates: AW72750 (aug. 2016-?) Previous reg.: ? (pre-2008), BT-SJ-96 (NL) (c2008-2009), 5233 VQ 62 (F) (2009-?), AT31371 (mar. 2015-jun. 2016) Later reg.: n/a Retirement age: still active at time of upload (apr. 2018) Photo location: Motorway 501 (Aarhus Syd Motorvejen), Viby J, Aarhus, DK

After spending the early years with an unknown owner, it was bought by John van den Berg of "Heros Transport", Noordwijk (NL) in 2007-08. Here it was given the Disney-livery that it still has today. Baptized "Disneyliner", it is covered by Disney characters on all sides. Van den Berg soon bought another torpedo Scania (reg. BZ-GN-83) and gave it the same treatment, only with different Disney characters. This one was nicknamed "Disneyliner 2"... and there was one more difference: the new arrival received the facelift (series 6) grille. In 2009 van den Berg sold the first Disneyliner to french company "Nord Provence Nord" (reg. 5233 VQ 62), who displayed it at the 2009 Le Mans race (24h du Mans)

In 2015 the Scania was imported to Denmark (unknown owner, reg. AT31371) before arriving at present owner, Svanebilerne (Martin Wahl) in 2016. In spring 2018 it is once again up for sale, but still driving while awaiting new owner.

The engine was "recently" upgraded from a 500 hp to 530.

This famous truck has been immortalized in miniature form in the shape of a 1/50 scale model from WSI - Heros Transport livery, but it looks exactly the same today, except for the names and license plates.

On the day of this photo, the front license plate had obviously become loose and is (barely) seen behind the windscreen.

Going up the steep hill leading sw out of Aarhus past Viby and Stautrup. Underpowered and/or heavily loaded trucks often struggle here.

Tip: to locate trucks of particular interest to you, check my collections page, "truck collection" - here you will find all trucks organized in albums, by haulier (with zip-codes), year, brand and country.

Retirement age for trucks: many used trucks are offered for sale on international markets. If sold to a foreign buyer, this will not be listed in the danish motor registry, so a "retired" truck may or may not have been exported. In other words, the "retirement age" only shows the age, at which the truck stopped running on danish license plates.
