The mount of the photo (before it was cropped) has an embossed name on it, partly hidden by the frame. You can read ‘ phus tear’. Looking at a list of early British photographers I found Adolphus Tear who had a studio in Ipswich in 1917 which is where my Grandfather (WE Green) was brought up. Adolphus Tear died in 1925.
