American Motors Corporation (AMC), 1954-88, was formed from the merger of Nash-Kelvinator Corporation and Hudson Motor Car Company.
The Matador was the mid-size car that was built from 1971-78. The 1974 second generation saw a major redesign, the four-door and station wagon models were classified as full-size cars and had different styling to the Matador Coupe. The aerodynamically styled fastback two-door hardtop was introduced with a new design to capture people looking for exciting, sporty styling. This car is an Australian assembled car, no34 of 85 assembled by AMI (Australian Motor Industries) in 1976 and sold as a Rambler Matador. Engine; 360 cu in V8
