English: Roy A. Roberts, president of the Kansas City Star, USSR Ambassaoor Mikhail Menshikov, and Chicago Sun-Times executive editor Milburn Pete Akers, searching the cloudy Chicago sky for a glimpse of Sputnik 3 on the evening of May 17, 1958. Location: Tavern Club, 333 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, Illinois, USA. (Akers would later become president of Shimer College.)
