English: The Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte, NC opened in October 1936 and was the first art museum in the state. During its inaugural opening, their Dewelle Gallery featured a portrait of Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz by court painter Allan Ramsay.
