English: This fish (deepwater sculpin, Myoxocephalus thompsonii) was collected for my research, and from a bottom trawl in Lake Michigan, offshore of Ludington, in about 110 meters of water aboard the Grayling, a USGS Great Lakes Science Center research vessel.
The fish was collected in the Autumn of 2009 and brought back to USGS laboratory facilities in Ann Arbor, MI for live experiments.
This is male, because you can see the extensions off the second dorsal fin and this specimen was approximately 120-1300 mm in total length.
