Emma Xuereb, or Emma Xuerreb, (born 5 January 1992) is a Maltese footballer who plays as a defender for Hibernians and Malta.
Club career
[edit]Gozo United
[edit]Emma Xuereb has played for several clubs across Malta, and she began her career at Gozo Women in 2008.[1]
Mosta
[edit]She then moved to Mosta and made three appearances between 2010 and 2013 while winning the Maltese First Division once and being runners-up twice.
Raiders Luxol
[edit]She joined Raiders Luxol[1] in 2013.
Hibernians (first and second spells)
[edit]She joined Hibernians for the first time in 2015 before re-joining in 2019.
Swieqi United
[edit]In June 2022, Swieqi United announced extending Xuereb's contract for another two years.[1]
Hibernians (third spell)
[edit]After her contract ended at Swieqi United, she joined Hibernians in 2024 for her third spell at the club aged 32.[2]
International career
[edit]Emma Xuereb debuted for Malta in 2009 and scored her first goal on 10 March 2020 during a 3–2 loss against Bosnia and Herzegovina during UEFA Women's Euro 2022 qualifying.[2]
