Deprod

[edit]

@P Aculeius Hello sir. You've cancelled the prod but I think it was an error, let me explain; The article falls under WP:G5 because if you check the article creator, it was one of the sockpuppets of Nugo20299. So the user was sockpuppeting while creating this account, which falls under WP:G5. Your other point was that the article had "significant amount of editing by non-banned users", but if you actually look at the significant edits after the sock, it was restored by another sockpuppet [1] of Nugo20299. After this sock was blocked as well, the article was again submitted by two IPs who largely overlap with Nugo20299 and his socks, and are likely sockpuppets of Nugo20299 too as they often do same edits, they edit/restore previous sock account articles and even their drafts like here: [2], [3]. Therefore I think the WP:G5 prod should be restored, this article was essentially created or restored by confirmed socks or highly possible IP socks, IPs that shouldn't even edit the topic per WP:GS/AA restriction. It was not an error. The editor was not banned at the time the article was created, so G5 does not apply. And a number of perfectly non-sockpuppet editors have worked on the article, so again, G5 does not apply. G5 only applies in very limited circumstances, and this case falls outside of those. Moreover, the article is clearly not nonsense or about a non-notable topic; it is about a topic for which a Wikipedia article should probably exist, and now it does. It is cited to apparently good sources (some of which I recognize), and can be edited further if any of the sources are inadequate or need to be balanced due to presenting a one-sided opinion.
Deleting an otherwise valid article merely because the editor who initially created it was subsequently banned for abusing multiple accounts—not, apparently, connected with this article—or because he later restored content that was deleted from it—would be counterproductive. The purpose of G5 is to prevent banned users from contributing original content to the encyclopedia, not to ensure that content that was created by banned users is erased from the encyclopedia, along with the contributions of other editors who have expanded or improved upon it.
The time to delete this article has passed; if you wish to improve upon it via the normal editing process, feel free. That involves providing more details, more and better sources, or clearer explanations; not hunting down any text that might have originated with a banned user, and expunging it.
