Possible RS references towards NAUTHOR

[edit]

The following are candidate RS counting towrds NAUTHOR: Djm-leighpark (talk) 00:43, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Books reviews of Baruah's work
  • Chadda, M. (2000). India against itself: Assam and the politics of nationality. Political Science Quarterly, 115(2), 320-322. [1]
  • Abstract says: "India Against Itself: Assam and the Politics of Nationality" by Sanjib Baruah is reviewed.
  • Jaffrelot, C. (2001). India against itself: Assam and the politics of nationality. The Journal of Asian Studies, 60(1), 255-256. [2]
  • Fulltext Review of "India against itself: Assam and the politics of nationality"
  • Review of "In the Name of the Nation: India and Its Northeast"
Secondary citing
  • Khongreiwo, R. (2009). Understanding the histories of peoples on the margins: A critique of "northeast india's durable disorder". Alternatives, 34(4), 437-454. [3]
  • Secondary citing of Durable disorder: Understanding the Politics of Northeast India in the headnote and throughout the article
I took a little trouble here to sort out evidence towards NAUTHOR, the real issues multiple with the artilce are CITEBOMBing making it hard to see good references from poor ones, and other risks of BLPSTYLE and perhaps SYNTHESIS. Djm-leighpark (talk) 03:22, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Moved to mainspace

[edit]

I've just moved the draft back to mainspace. Pragmatically NAUTHOR has been passed and I am confident AfD would be passed. A DRV or waiting for an AFC is likely a waste of volunteer time and I am reasonably sure Beccaynr and myself have addressed BLP issues between us. I apologise for the mistakes I will undoubtably have made and others will need to correct. I am formally requesting this is not subject to re-draftication but is placed or AfD or DRV (with a {{temp-undelete}} if necessary. Thankyou. Djm-leighpark (talk) 19:10, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There are reviews in the In the Name of the Nation article that help support WP:AUTHOR#3 notability, i.e. collective body of work [that has] been the primary subject [...] of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews. For example, Samir Sharma writes in Studies in Indian Politics, "This book, in a way, completes Baruah's trilogy on the region, after India Against Itself (1999) and Durable Disorder (2005)."[1] Other reviews of In the Name of the Nation also refer back to his earlier work, e.g. The Wire: "Written almost after two decades of the widely read India Against Itself (1999), this book revisits the over-arching issues that continue to dominate the political discourse of the region."[2] The Telegraph: "Baruah has engaged with themes of State, nation, nationalism, sub/ethno-nationalism, nation-building, sovereignty, democracy and citizenship in the context of Northeast India since India Against Itself: Assam and the Politics of Nationality, one of his well-known works."[3] H-Net: "When Sanjib Baruah's Durable Disorder came out in 2007, it quickly established itself as an essential introduction to how northeastern India—a region that was historically a crossroads between the Indian Subcontinent, the Southeast Asian peninsula, and Inland Asia—became associated with seemingly unending insurgencies and other forms of “disorder,” seemingly directed against the Indian state."[4] I think these sources could also be incorporated into this article to create some additional prose about his writing career. Based on the reviews currently included in this article and the ones noted above, it also appears the other books in the 'trilogy' have WP:NBOOK notability, and could be developed into independent articles.
