Release and review

[edit]

Hello@DareshMohan@Kailash29792 The page about director (Sivam has been taken to Afd and I was wondering if it could not redirect here. There's a 123 Telugu review but my question is: do you have a way to check If this was released (and in all 5 languages?) I (obviously, or I wouldn't ask) haven't seen the film but its Pan Indian release has attracted some atttention. (I saw that DareshMohan was advising to wait for release). Has it happened yet?. Yours, -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 19:27, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Mushy Yank: The film has a confirmed release in 1 language. The film was not released in other languages [1]. DareshMohan (talk) 20:31, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
thanks a lot! @DareshMohan -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 21:27, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If it was just released in one language, can that be called a pan-Indian release? (Also, even if it had gone ahead in 5 languages, four of them are South Indian - unclear that that qualifies as pan-Indian.) Llajwa (talk) 21:59, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Well, they advertised it as such. I qualified the description in the release section but will do it in the lead too. Thanks. And yes, you're right, these languages do not represent the totality of India, neither from a geographic nor linguistic point of vue, but pan-Indian is, in this context, a film word, and seems to be used even in the case of bilingual films. -My, oh my! To clear the air, @Mushy Yank: pan-Indian films don't need to be bilinguals. They are films made in one language but are dubbed into a few other languages. Take KGF: Chapter 2, the film ran the best in Hindi even though the film is not shot in Hindi. DareshMohan (talk) 00:39, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the clarification. Best, -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 08:07, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
User:DareshMohan - just for clarification - Lily is not currently being released in versions dubbed into other languages, right? So it was planned to be a pan-Indian release but in fact it is (so far) not pan-Indian, right?
Is there a cut-off for qualifying as pan-Indian? i.e., is a film released in just Tamil and Hindi considered pan-Indian?
It sounds like most pan-Indian films are filmed in one South Indian language and then dubbed into other South Indian languages plus HIndi, is that right? Also, are the songs re-recorded as well? (I'm adding these questions to Talk:Pan-Indian Film. Llajwa (talk) 16:53, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
