Hi IP, can you point to two or three reliable sources that meet WP:GNG? Keep in mind teasers, casting announcements and the like are considered promo/WP:Run-of-the-mill and Fuchsia Magazine, ReviewIt, IMDB (see WP:IMDB) and The Brown Identity are not reliable sources so should not be used. You might find WP:New page patrol source guide and WP:RSP helpful guides about some sources. You can list the footnote numbers and I will take a look. Pinging @Saqib so they are aware. Hey there, reference from Daily Times, ARY News, Associated Press of Pakistan and Minutes Mirror are reliable other than the ones you've pointed out.182.182.97.3 (talk) 16:53, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sources from Galaxy Lollywood and The brown Identity does cover the subject in details but since you're not counting it so I'll point out Daily Times and ARY News as the best sources. 182.182.97.3 (talk) 17:01, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The Daily Times is a teaser so does not contribute to notability. To make sure I am looking the correct ARY News, can you please give me the footnote number? S0091 (talk) 17:05, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As I explained above, teasers are promo/WP:Run-of-the-mill often based on a press release. They are fine to use for limited WP:verifiability but not helpful for notability. For ref 8, my anti-virus software give me a "risky connection" warning. ?? S0091 (talk) 17:25, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So perhaps part of your confusion IP is that sources serve two purposes, WP:notability and WP:verifiability. A source being reliable does not mean it contributes to notability. In order for a source to contribute to notability it needs it meet all four criteria listed at WP:GNG: reliable, secondary, independent and provide significant coverage directly about the topic. S0091 (talk) 17:31, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You need at least two sources the meet WP:GNG criteria. Adding more sources that do not meet the criteria is not helpful and makes reviewing more difficult. Thanks for providing the link to WikiProject Pakistan. The issue is there are no links where the sources have been discussed so have consensus they are reliable. The note for Minute Mirror merely states "Appears to have editorial oversight" which is not a strong endorsement. Do take look at the pages l linked to at NPP and RSP as those all have links to discussions as WP:RSN or some other venue. S0091 (talk) 17:39, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see you have nom'd it for MfD. If that doesn't end up with deletion, at least a major clean up needs to be done. S0091 (talk) 17:54, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This IP has posted messages in numerous places. Can we consolidate the discussion in one location so others can contribute as well? —Saqib (talk | contribs) 16:55, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
From what I see at ANI, the IP is making a complaint your behaviour which is the correct place but content discussions should take place on the relevant talk page but I'll put a note a ANI discussion letting folks know about this one. S0091 (talk) 17:08, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
