Hagiographic tone

[edit]

The previous edit reads much, much, much, much too much like PR for C.T. Jasper. That is acceptable for his own website, but not for wikipedia. As mentioned numerous times elsewhere, the purpose of wikipedia is to present 'just the facts' and not to act as a PR-vessel for an individual or group. DJRafe (talk)

COPYVIO again

[edit]

So it appears that all of the content on this page was COPYVIO from his bio on University, which predated the edits made here. Here is an Oct 2017 wayback snapshot of his Temple faculty page. [1]. IT 100% matches with that section of the bio [2]. @Wiae: you did a previous COPYVIO clean up here. There have also been recent edits by SPA Legog (talk · contribs), whom was the creator of the article (it took nine times at AFC to pass) it appears has previously been involved in edits that have been struck from the record, which are uncited and wholly promotional; they also blasted away the two flags on the article. I don't know if a speedy for COPYVIO is appropriate here, but there isn't much to save. I don't know if reverting to some previous version is wise, given the history of COPYVIO on the page. @Mduvekot: any advice here? --Theredproject (talk) 18:16, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Theredproject: I nuked the copyvio I found and added a revdel request. There may be more copyvio in the history but it would be a bigger task to look through all the revisions and pick them out. I'll leave a note on Legog's talk page about copyright violations. Thanks, /wiae /tlk 19:00, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
There are a few SPAs that have been contributing junk text to the article. Might be worthwhile to open dialogue with these users on their talk page to see if there are COI issues, following which a trip to WP:COIN could be in order. /wiae /tlk 19:02, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
