An untitled Joe Cornish Lego film is an upcoming comedy film produced by The Lego Group and distributed by Universal Pictures. Based on the Lego line of construction toys, it is intended to be an installment in The Lego Movie franchise. The film will be directed by Joe Cornish.
In December 2019, after the box-office disappointment of The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, Universal was in talks to distribute and develop feature film properties based on the Lego toys, while Warner Bros. still owned the rights to their run of the franchise from 2014 to 2019. It was later set for a limited 5-year film deal with Universal in April 2020.
