Starlight Boys (Korean스타라이트보이즈; RRSeutalaiteu Boiseu; Chinese: 星光闪耀的少年; pinyin: XīngguāngShǎnyàoDeShàonián) is an ongoing South Korean-Chinese reality competition show produced by iQiyi and Studio Prism. The show premiered on October 26, 2024 and airs on every Friday.

This season is presented by Lee Sung-kyung, with Lee Seung-gi, Daesung, Choi Young-joon, Hanhae, Kwon Eun-bi, Hui, Eric, and Yoon serving as guiders.[1] It is the fourth entry to the Youth With You franchise, an idol survival series originally based in China.

The show brought 69 male trainees from different countries and agencies to form a boy group through global viewers' votes.

Concept

"Starlight Boys" is a large-scale transnational idol cultivation program jointly created by iQIYI and South Korea's famous TV station SBS, which marks the expansion of global vision. The program focuses on young talents with dreams around the world and aims to discover and cultivate the next generation of international idols.

First voting period

The first voting period took place from October 26 to November 16, 2024.

Voters could vote for three, five, or seven boys per day depending on their subscription to iQIYI.

At the end of the second episode, all votes for the eliminated contestants were discarded.

The trainees enter the main stage and seat themselves according to their rankings from the initial 24-hour pick results displayed on the small screen. The top 60 trainees are arranged in the first waiting area, while the last 39 trainees must leave and sit in the second waiting area, which is an unheated glass box outside the main recording set. They watch the performances on a monitor. The trainees begin performing in groups.
