San Nicolas English is a variety of Caribbean English spoken in the town of San Nicolas in Aruba. It is spoken by the town's estimated 15.000 residents, namely by Afro-Arubans of pre-dominantly Trinidadian and Grenadian descent, Arubans of other race and by immigrants to Aruba residing in the town. San Nicolas English is often spoken alongside Papiamento, one of the official languages of Aruba.

History[edit]
San Nicolas English is said to have developed from varieties of Caribbean English and English Creoles spoken by Afro-Arubans descended from Trinidadians, Grenadians and immigrants from other English-speaking Caribbean nations who settled San Nicolas throughout the 20th century, namely to work in jobs related to the Aruban oil industry located near the town.
