Biography

[edit]

Kseniia Shadurska was born on May 17, 1991 in the city of Kamianka (Ukraine) in the family of a military man and a teacher[2]. She spent her childhood and youth in the town of Partenit (Autonomous Republic of Crimea). At the age of six, Shadurska began studying at a music school, specializing in violin, and graduated with honors.

At the age of 11, she won the Chornomorski Games competition.

By 16, she participated in and won the TV project "A Step to the Stars." She has repeatedly become a laureate of international competitions in Moscow, Berlin, Prague, and Krakow.

At 17, she enrolled at the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, majoring in television directing, on a state-funded program. While studying, she worked part-time as a waitress and later as a backing vocalist in a karaoke club[3].

At 20, she formed her own indie rock band, Lollipop. By 22, she was already working as a director on the Ukrainian TV shows Ukraine's Got Talent and The X Factor on the STB channel.

In 2012, Shadurska began working as a director for the TV project The Voice of Ukraine and later for the project Dancing with the Stars.

She also participated in the TV projects People's Star in a duet with Oleh Sobchuk and The Voice of Ukraine (season one).

In 2021, she launched her solo project, Shadu,[4][5][6].

In July 2022, together with sound producer Meyer, she presented the single "When I (Remix)," and two months later, the EP "Gravity"[7][6] was released to the public.

Throughout 2023, Shadu released her second EP titled Babylon and a new single, "Rollercoaster."

2024 became a significant year for her DJ career[8][9], as she released four Afro house tracks, a subgenre of electronic dance music: "Need You," "Under the Sky," "Stillness," and "Need Your Love"[6]. In parallel with the production of her own tracks, the artist releases DJ mixes under the title "The Flow" on her YouTube channel.
