Rob Nagle is an American actor, director, teacher, and acting coach. He is a professor at the Theatre of Arts Hollywood Acting School,[1] the Art of Acting Studio,[2] and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.[3]
Early life and education
[edit]Nagle was born in Eugene, Oregon, then raised in DeKalb, Illinois,[4] and in Williamsburg, Virginia. He graduated from Lafayette High School in Williamsburg in 1988, and from Northwestern University in 1992,[5] with a double-major in theatre and philosophy. He has been married since October 7, 1995, to Heather Allyn,[6] who works as a casting director in reality television and has been nominated for multiple Emmy and Artios awards.
Career
[edit]Nagle is an actor who works in film, television, commercials, and theatre. He is known for his performances in Good Trouble, NCIS: Los Angeles, Batwoman, Dynasty, Safety, To Hell and Gone, Superior Donuts, Bad Samaritan, The Librarians, Fishing Naked, Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds, New Year’s Eve, Mad Men, Eli Stone, Cold Case, Everwood, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Guardian, and Dawson’s Creek.
Nagle has also worked in theatres across the country, including Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Fountain Theatre, Troubadour Theater Company,[7] Boston Court Pasadena,[8] Pasadena Playhouse, Antaeus Theatre Company,[9] LA Theatre Works,[10] New World Stages,[11] South Coast Repertory,[12] Skylight Theatre Company,[13] Open Fist Theatre Company,[14] Portland Center Stage,[15] Mark Taper Forum,[16] Baltimore Center Stage, San Jose Repertory,[17] Old Globe Theatre,[18] Shakespeare Theatre Company,[19] Goodman Theatre, and Bailiwick Repertory.[20]
In 2018, Rob won Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for his Featured Performance in The Little Foxes at Antaeus Theatre Company.[21] In 2019, Rob won the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award and the Stage Raw Theater Award for his Leading Performance in The Judas Kiss at Boston Court Pasadena.[22][23]
