Portland Rage
[edit]The Portland Rage were a professional inline hockey team that played two seasons from 1992-1994 in the Roller Hockey International league. They played their home games at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon. The team was one of the original teams to play in the first season of operation.

Formation
[edit]Tim Conyard reportedly wanted to play roller hockey, and persuaded his father, Bill Conyard, to purchase the franchise from the Roller Hockey International. Bill Conyard also owned Conyard’s Sport & Hockey in Portland.
Struggles and Demise
[edit]During the first season, the team struggled due to their players being new to roller hockey, and not as experienced as the other players in the league. The season ticket count was low, only totalling to 100 holders (according to the Portland Business Journal). The season ended with four wins, and 10 losses.[1]
The second season managed to be better. Under a new coach, the team managed to head to the championship finals, but was defeated by the Buffalo Stampede. The season ended with 11 wins, and 10 losses[2].
In the same year, 5 teams folded in the league[3], and this included the Portland rage. At the end of the 1994 season, the team was folded by the owner, Bill Conyard.
