PNS Babur (F-280)
PNS Babur (F-280) is the first Babur-class corvette of the Pakistan Navy[1] currently in active service since her commissioning in 2023.
History
[edit]In August 2021, PNS Babur was launched for Pakistan Navy in a ceremony held at Istanbul Naval Shipyard.[2][3]
In September 2023, Babur was commissioned in a ceremony held at the Istanbul Naval Shipyard in Turkiye.[4]
In June 2024, the crew of Babur completed it's training at Gölcük Naval Base in Turkiye.[5]
In June 2024, Babur participated in bilateral exercise Turgutreis-IX with Turkiye at the Aksaz Naval Base.[6][7]
In June 2024, Babur visited the port of Jeddah and participated in a naval exercise with Al Riyadh frigate of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces.[8][7] It also visited the Port of Salalah.[9]
In September 2024, the induction ceremony of Babur into the Pakistan Navy fleet was held at the Karachi Naval Dockyard.[10][11]
