Kazuha Nakamura (Japanese: 中村 一葉, Hepburn: Nakamura Kazuha, born August 9, 2003), known mononymously as Kazuha, is a Japanese singer and rapper based in South Korea. She is one of two Japanese members of the South Korean girl group Le Sserafim, formed in 2022 by Source Music and Hybe Corporation.[1]
Early life
[edit]Kazuha was born on August 9, 2003, in Kōchi, Kōchi Prefecture, Japan.[2] She attended Hashimoto Sachiyo Ballet School & Jr in Japan, Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Royal Ballet School in the United Kingdom, and since 2020 she has been studying at the Dutch National Ballet Academy in Netherlands where she was scouted to be part of Le Sserafim.[3][4][5][6]
Career

[edit]Kazuha did ballet before she was scouted to be part of Le Sserafim.[7] She was a silver medalist at the Asian Grand Prix Competition - Junior's Division 2018.She has won numerous competitions such as Japan MIE Ballet Competition in 2016, World Dream Ballet High School in 2017, Victoire Ballet Competition Kobe in 2019 and many more. Kazuha cites South Korean girl group Blackpink as her inspiration to transition from ballet to K-pop.[8]
2022–present: Debut with Le Sserafim
[edit]On March 14, 2022, Source Music announced that they would launch a new girl group in collaboration with Hybe Corporation.[9][10] Kazuha was revealed as the 5th member through 'The First Moment of Le Sserafim' on April 8.[3][11]
Endorsements
[edit]In November 2022, Kazuha was named an ambassador for cosmetics brand Etude and Calvin Klein.[12][13][14][unreliable source?] She is also known for her workout videos.[15][unreliable source?]
