Draft:Historical Society of Palm Beach County

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Historical Society of Palm Beach County is a non-profit organization located in Palm Beach County, Florida. It was founded in 1937 by A. Stanley Bussey. At the creation, it only had one black and white photo of an island street scene.

In 2008, Richard and Pat Johnson created the Palm Beach County History Museum. The museum has a rich history and is located in downtown West Palm Beach in the original courthouse building across the street from the more modern courthouse building, which is now used today. The museum shows Florida's heritage and Palm Beach County's history going back at least 12,000 years.

It features permanent geographical history on the 2nd floor, the remodeled 1916 Courthouse on its third floor, and rotating exhibits on the first floor. [1]

General admission to the History Museum is free. It is open Monday through Saturday.

Pre-registration is encouraged.
