Development
[edit]Hayauchi Super Igo is the first Go software for home video game consoles with a 19x19 Go board. The developer, Home Data, consulted with two university students in the development process. Due to the processing power limitations of 8-bit CPU, they abandoned reading moves in favor of a design that performs pattern recognition of stone shapes. Thus, the software was able to make moves within 5 seconds in most cases, despite the low performance of the 8-bit CPU.[1]
