Faustino Oro (born October 14, 2013) is an Argentine chess prodigy.[1][2] In 2023, when he was nine, he received a rating of 2300 (classical), becoming the youngest chess player to have done so at the time.[3] This record has since broken by Ethan Pang.[4] He has been dubbed the "Messi of chess".[5][6][7][8][9] He is also the youngest player to attain a norm for the IM title.[10]

In May 2024, Faustino defeated 5-time world champion and world #1 ranked Magnus Carlsen during a weekly Bullet Brawl tournament hosted by Chess.com.[3][11][12]

He holds the world record for the youngest International Master, a title which he earned in June 2024 at the age of 10 years, 8 months, and 16 days, breaking the record of Abhimanyu Mishra.[13]
