Donald Saunders was a Bahamian politician from the Free National Movement[1]
Early Life
[edit]Donald (Don) Saunders was born on the 12th February, 1975 in Nassau, Bahamas to Mispah Saunders-Strachan (nee Miller) and Donald G. Saunders. He is a foster child of Archdeacon Keith Cartwright.[1]
He attended the College of The Bahamas graduating in 1994 with an Associate of Arts Degree in History. He studied at the University of the West Indies (Cave Hill, Barbados) earning a Bachelor of Science Degree (Hons.) in Sociology and Political Science in 1998. He completed studies leading to the award of a Bachelors of Law Degree (LL.B.) (Hons.) at the University of Leeds, UK in 2000 and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Law and the Bar Vocational Course at the University of Northumbria, UK.[1]
Career
[edit]In 2017 general elections, he became the member of parliament representing Tall Pines. He lost his seat to Michael Darville in the 2021 general elections.
Personal Life and Death
[edit]Don was married to Tiffany (nee Bullard-Rigby) and the couple has two children.[1]
On March 27, 2024 Donald was shot outside of a club in Gambier Village in an attempted robbery.[2] [3]
