Djmi El Ghalia is a Western Saharan activist. El Ghalia serves as the vice president of the human rights organization, the Sahrawi Association of Victims of Grave Human Rights Violations (ASVDH).[1] In the late 1980s, El Ghalia was placed in a detention center, where she was tortured and abused for around four years.[2] El Ghalia was featured in a documentary, Life is Waiting (2015).[3]
