Dewanbag Sharif (Bengali: দেওয়ানবাগ শরিফ) is located at Arambagh in Motijheel, the heart of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Muhammadi Islam tariqah is propagated from Dewanbag Sharif, founded by Sufi Emperor Hazrat Sayed Mahbub-E-Khoda.

About 2 KM away from the zero point of Dhaka. It's located in Arambagh in the commercial area of Motijheel. It's commonly known as 147 Arambagh Babe Rahmat Dewanbag Sharif.

Establishment History

On September 25, 1985, Sufi Emperor Hazrat Sayed Mahbub-E-Khoda established a Darbar Sharif called Babe Jannat (Bengali: বাবে জান্নাত) Dewanbag Sharif in dewanbag area located in Madanpur, Narayanganj, and from there he was known as Dewanbagi Hujur.[1]

Later in 1992, he established a Darbar named Babe Rahmat (Bengali: বাবে রহমত) Dewanbag Sharif at 147 Arambagh, Motijheel, Dhaka, and since then it has become the main administrative center of Dewanbag Sharif.[2]

Also, behind the Bangladesh Bank building in south Kamalapur, Dhaka, there is another establishment called Babe Madina (Bengali: বাবে মদীনা) Dewanbag Sharif, operating by Dewanbag Sharif, which has a camel firm[3], and currently Dewanbagi Hujur and his consort Syeda Hamida Begum are engraved here.

With the above consequences, he established Babe Najat (Bengali: বাবে নাজাত) in Rangpur at 1995, Babe Barkat (Bengali: বাবে বরকত) in Trishal, Mymensing at 1998, Babe Niamat (Bengali: বাবে নেয়ামত) in Chuadanga at 2006, Babe Morshed (Bengali: বাবে মোর্শেদ) at Ashuganj, Brahmanbaria at 2008, Babe Ferdaus (Bengali: বাবে ফেরদৌস) in Moghbazar, Dhaka at 2009, Babe Magfirat (Bengali: বাবে মাগফিরাত) in Chottogram at 2010 and lastly Babe Nur (Bengali: বাবে নূর) in Rajshahi at 2011.

Events

World Asheke Rasul (PUBH) Conference (Bengali: বিশ্ব আশেকে রাসুল (সা.) সম্মেলন)[4] is held[5][6] almost every year on the auspicious birthday of Sufi Emperor Hazrat Mahbub-E-Khoda on 14th December on a predetermined date. This is the largest and most populous event at Dewanbag Sharif, which formarly known as the World Sufi Conference (Bengali: বিশ্ব সূফী সম্মেলন).

From 1985 to 1988, a total of 4 Grate Holy Ors Mubarak (Bengali: মহাপবিত্র ওরস মোবারক) took place. From 1989 to 1997, the name was changed to World Sufi Conference. There were a total of 9 World Sufi Conferences, out of which 4 conferences were held from 1989 to 1992 at Babe Jannat Dewanbag Sharif in Narayanganj and 5 conferences from 1993 to 1997 were held at Arambagh in Motijheel, Dhaka. From 18th December 1997 untill now it was again renamed as World Asheke Rasul (PUBH) Conference.

From 1989 to 2019, the World Sufi Conferences and World Asheke Rasul (PUBH) Conferences were held at Arambagh in Motijheel, Dhaka. [7][8][9] Later, after the demise of Dewanbagi Hujur, from 2022 it's being held in Babe Barkat (Bengali: বাবে বরকত) Dewanbag Sharif in Trishal, Mymensingh.[10][11][12][13]

Also important days for the Muslim Ummah like Eid-E-Miladunnabi (PUBH), Shab-E-Qadr, Shab-E-Barat, Shab-E-Meraj, Holu Ashurah, Eid-Al-Fitr, Eid-Al-Adha, and weekly Asheke Rasul (PUBH) Mahfil are held every Friday
