Christopher McDonald (born November 21, 1976) in an American talent booker and Emmy awarded producer.[1][2][3]
Early life and education
[edit]Christopher McDonald was born in Washington DC, into a military family, and lived in many countries, including Japan, Korea, Germany, and multiple locations across the United States. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College in Boston.[4][5]
Career
[edit]McDonald started his career at CNN, where he worked on the global news program "The World Today with Jim Moret."
Television and media
[edit]McDonald managed bookings, produced programs such as "Tavis Smiley" (PBS), "The Arsenio Hall Show" (CBS/Tribune),[6] and "It's Not You, It's Men with Tyrese & Rev Run" (OWN). He held roles in launching shows like "The Kelly Clarkson Show" (NBC) [7]and projects like "Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu" (YouTube/iTunes).[8] McDonald won a daytime Emmy as a Talent Producer and Talent Booker for the "The Kelly Clarkson Show" in 2024.[9]
Impact Theory and Connections First
[edit]McDonald founded Connections First, a company dedicated to bridging brands with notable individuals across various sectors including television, film, music, business, and sports. McDonald is also a co-funder of Impact Theory, known as platform for motivational and inspirational content. McDonald managed bookings for Prince, Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Angelina Jolie, Chris Rock, and Jay-Z, and others.[10][11]
Acting
[edit]McDonald has been cast in James Gunn's upcoming Superman film, where he will portray the character Ron Troupe, a reporter for the Daily Planet alongside Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant.[12]
