Ahmed Almheiri (Arabic: أحمد المهيري) is an Emirati theoretical physicist. He is currently an assistant professor at New York University Abu Dhabi. He is known for his works on AdS/CFT, black hole information paradox and black hole firewalls.

He obtained his Ph. D. from University of California, Santa Barbara under the supervision of Joseph Polchinski. He has held postdoctoral positions at Stanford University (2014-2017) and the Institute of Advanced Study (2017-2022). He joined New York University Abu Dhabi as a faculty member since 2022.

He was awarded the New Horizons in Physics Prize by Fundamental Physics Prize Foundation in 2021 for "calculating the quantum information of a black hole and its radiation".[1]
