Der Geist hilft unser Schwachheit auf (The Spirit comes to our aid in our weakness, BWV 226) is a motet by Johann Sebastian Bach. It draws its text from the book of Romans 8:26–27 and a hymn by Martin Luther. It was composed and premiered in Leipzig in 1729, receiving its first performance on October 24 that year.
