Coryne is a genus of hydrozoans belonging to the family Corynidae.
Derivation of genus name
[edit]κορυνε ( = korune ) is a Greek word meaning "club" ( in the sense of "cudgel" or "bludgeon" ) - in reference to certain club-like organs borne by the animal.
