Christopher J. Thompson (born May 19, 1982, in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an Canadian football cornerback for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League.

NFL career

Chris Tompson began his professional playing career in the National Football League. He was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the 18th pick of the fifth round of the 2004 NFL Draft out of Nicholls State University; he played for the Chicago Bears in the 2005 NFL season, where he appeared in twelve games and accumulated 10 tackles. He then played with the Buffalo Bills during the 2006 season.

CFL career

After being cut by the Bills, prior to the start of the 2007 season, Thompson signed with the Edmonton Eskimos. He was on their negotiation list for 2 years prior to his signing. Thompson signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on February 13, 2008.[1] On February 16, 2010, Thompson was traded to the Edmonton Eskimos in exchange for wide receiver Maurice Mann.
