I suggest to use a different term than parameter

[edit]

Parameter mean many things in different contexts, thus ambiguous. Parameter is primarily meant as some property or element that is fixed or constant for a particular system under discussion, but can change for a different system. The word parameter has been increasingly used as a synonym of simple "characteristic" for the past few decades to sound more technical or jargon-y, diluting the original meaning of the term. I suggest using "characteristic" or some similar unambiguous term instead of the technical sounding but ambiguous term "parameter". --Zaheen (talk) 13:32, 13 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
