Brier Hill-style pizza is a distinctive yet simple pizza from the Brier Hill neighborhood of Youngstown made with Romano cheese.
History
[edit]Developed by the mothers of the immigrant families of steel laborers in the Mahoning Valley. Originally baked at communal brick ovens.
Where to Find
[edit]Brier Hill pizza is loved throughout the Manhoning Valley. Notably it is sold every Friday at St. Anthony of Padua as a church fundraiser. Also found daily at Avalon Downtown, Wedgewood Pizza, MVR and Brier Hill Pizza and Wings.
