William Sterling "Bill" Blair, [1] is the current police chief in Toronto, Ontario. He was appointed on June 6, 2006, and assumed his duties on June 26. He took over from interim chief Mike Boyd, who had served for just over a month following the end of Julian Fantino's contract.
Chief Blair is also President of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police[2], a private association which is a member of the Canadian 'Coalition for Gun Control'[3].
On June 29, 2010 during a press conference on the G20 Summit in Toronto he admitted lying to the public about new search and seizure laws concerning the security perimeter. [4]
