Beacon Falls station is a commuter rail stop on the Waterbury Branch of the Metro-North Railroad's New Haven Line, located in Beacon Falls, Connecticut. With just 14 daily passengers as of 2018, the station is one of the least used stations in the entire Metro-North system.
After closing in 1949, the station reopened on October 27, 1991. When the station closed, it was a flag stop served by one train a day per direction.[4]
Station layout
[edit]The station has one low-level side platform to the east of the single track, long enough for one door of one car to receive and discharge passengers.[citation needed]
The station is owned and operated by the Connecticut Department of Transportation, but Metro-North is responsible for maintaining platform lighting as well as trash and snow removal.[1] The station has 28 parking spaces operated by the town of Beacon Falls.[1][2]
As of 2024[update], the state plans to add an accessible high-level platform at the station, with construction to take place from 2025 to 2027.[5]
