Bass-D & King Matthew is a Dutch hardcore techno and gabber duo from Bussum. Made up of Eugenio Dorwart (Bass-D) and Matthijs Hazeleger (King Matthew), they are the co-founders of the Masters of Hardcore.[1]

Biography

Eugenio Dorwart began his career playing for Bussum, Netherlands, when he was only 14 years old. Matthijs Hazeleger was invited to a house radio show where he met Eugenio for the first time, they decided to mix together; this is when the duo was formed.[2]

In 1993, Bloody Cow Records and Bad Vibes Records signed with Bass-D & King Matthew, they decided to create their own label, Inferno Records.[3]

In 2000, Bass-D and King Matthew collaborated with DJ The Prophet to release an EP entitled "Get Retarded". In 2002, they released the fifth part of their compilation "In the Mix", which reached number 12 in the Dutch charts.[4]

On March 3, 2014, an evening called A Night with Bass-D was organized with DJ Korsakoff.[5] On March 25, 2017, they participated in The Skull Dynasty edition of the Masters of Hardcore festival, alongside more than 70 artists such as DJ Mad Dog, Tha Playah, Darkraver and Radical Redemption.[6]
