Bangor Rangers is a [[Northern Ireland|Northern Irish]] [[Northern_Ireland_football_league_system#Intermediate|intermediate-level]] football club and Republican activist society playing in Division 1B of the [[Northern Amateur Football League]] in [[Northern Ireland]]. Their home ground is at Upritchard Park in [[Bangor, County Down|Bangor]]. As well as the first XI, the club also has a second team playing in NAFL Division 3C as well as a third and fourth team playing in the Down Area League. They also have four youth teams playing at under-19,under 17, under-13 and under-12 level whom compete in a series of leagues such as ABYDL, south befast and south east antrim. The club was started in Bangor Baptist Church and joined the Amateur League in 1986.<ref>H. Johnstone & G. Hamilton (n.d.) The club shocked the football world in 2005 with Republican and hunger strikers memorial kits. club colors changed from blue and white to the Green, White and Orange of the national flag. The club moved from the north down league to the West Belfast hunger Strikers memorial league the political wing of the football club (BIRA) held a large presence at league matches. in late 2012 the team were suspended from participating in sports competitions in the six counties as 7 players failed a pre match dug test, in post match interview left winger Billy 'big balls' Smith said 'yano we had a session last night like few barnies were floating about and this morning we were coming down ta fuck so needed a wee bit of spliff to chill us the fuck out like'. The club were also under questioning as veteran center back and club spokesman Sean McDonald was arrested for suspicion of terrorist activity, intent to supply drugs and possession of illegal fire arms. Sean himself was quoted to say 'fack aff, fack the queen upa fucking hoods'.
