The Bangladesh–India cricket rivalry is an Cricket Rivalry between the Indian and Bangladeshi national teams. The rivalry is considered one of the biggest and fiercest in international cricket and supporters has described it as the "essence of sports rivalry". As both local and regional rivals in Asia, clashes have been described as both the Battle of the Asia or the Asian Clásico. Initially a cordial friendly competition between the two nations, the ferocity of the rivalry grew in the early part of the 20th century, marked by repeated controversial high profile incidents and periods of refusing to play each other.

The rivalry saw increased growth in Bangladesh after their win over India in the 2007 Cricket World Cup although since then India has been dominant in rivalry.Today, Bangladeshis consider India as their arch rivals.[1]

India has won 2 Cricket World Cups , 2 T20 World Cup and 2 Champions Trophy while, Bangladesh is yet to win a ICC tournament with their best performance having the reaching semi finals of 2017 ICC Champions Trophy and quarterfinals of 2015 Cricket World Cup.In both instances they were defeated by India.

Bangladesh's 2007 Cricket World Cup upset win against India gave rise to rival sentiments in both countries although since then India has dominated in ICC matches.[2]

In T20 World Cup Bangladesh is yet to register a win against India with latter emerging victorious in all 5 encounters.
