Bad Füssing (Central Bavarian dialect: Bod Fiassing) is a municipality in the district of Passau in Bavaria, Germany. Situated approximately 3 kilometers from the river Inn, which forms the natural border to Austria, the town is known for its scenic location and therapeutic offerings.

Attractions

[edit]

Bad Füssing is renowned for its thermal baths and is part of the Lower Bavarian Spa Triangle, a region famous for its wellness and health tourism. The town’s thermal waters are a major draw for visitors seeking relaxation and therapeutic treatments.

The discovery of the sulphurous thermal water, which has a temperature of 56°C, dates back to 1938. It was found at a depth of about 1 kilometer during an oil drilling operation.[3] The first spa facility opened in 1950, and over time, additional establishments were developed. Today, Bad Füssing boasts three public thermal baths. The largest of these is the Johannesbad Therme, which is based on a well drilled in 1964.[4][5]
