In December 2011, Scott claimed he was the front runner to buy the Team Russia Volvo 70 Yacht Kosatka, which competed in the 2008/9 Round the world race{{citation needed|date=February 2013}}. Kosatka was built to be the fastest monohull yacht in the world and capable of speeds of between 35-40 kts{{citation needed|date=February 2013}}.
