Synopsis

Raj (Bobby Deol) and Priya Malhotra (Kareena Kapoor) are a newly married couple who have moved to Switzerland. They meet their neighbours Vicky (Akshay Kumar) and Sonia Bajaj (Bipasha Basu) who are also married. The couples spend a lot of time together and quickly become friends. They take a trip to Mauritius together where Vicky suggests that he and Raj swap their wives for a night. This angers Raj and he cuts all contact with Vicky and Sonia. However after some time the two become friends again and they all celebrate on Vicky's birthday. Raj becomes incredibly drunk and wanders into Vicky's home whilst Vicky goes to Raj's home.

The next day Raj wakes up and imagines that Vicky and Priya are making love on the bed and then when he returns home he finds out that Sonia has been murdered. Vicky accuses Raj of killing her and all evidence points to him. Raj is arrested and is visited by Vicky in jail, who laughs at his (Raj's) plight. Raj knows that Vicky has framed him and flees the authorities to prove his innocence on his own. He meets Priya and convinces her of his innocence. Together, along with a friend Banu Pradhan (Johnny Lever), they investigate and find out that Vicky was having an affair with a girl named Neeta. Raj remembers that he had seen Vicky with a girl whom he kissed in Mauritius. At that time, Vicky had told Raj that she is just an old friend and there is nothing serious between them. Raj assumes that the old friend is Neeta, with whom Vicky is planning to flee alongith the insurance money. They manage to trace Vicky on a ship, where they are shocked to discover Vicky dancing with the 'dead' Sonia. Raj confronts him and Vicky tells him that the real Sonia was the girl with him in Mauritius, and the girl who is pretending to be his wife is actually Neeta. Neeta was a bar dancer, and Vicky was the drum man in the same bar. They loved each other, but Vicky was not happy with Neeta's job. Neeta tells him she doesn't want to quit as she wants to be rich. Vicky then tells her that he will get rich and come back for her. He goes away for 3 months and comes back, saying he has married a very rich girl called Sonia Bajaj. Together with Neeta, Vicky plans Sonia's death. Raj, afteer hearing this, fights with Vicky, and Neeta is killed. Vicky tries to kill Priya, but dies in the process.
