Accidents & Incidents
- On 22 May 2010, Air India Express Flight 812, VT-AXV a Boeing 737-800, flying on the Dubai-Mangalore route overshot runway 24 on landing at Mangalore International Airport, killing 152 passengers and 6 crew members on-board. The light pre-monsoon weather caused a greasy surface as a result of which the challenging hilltop runway was overshot. The aircraft flew into some trees on the end of the runway and burst into flames. Only 8 people survived the crash.[11][12][13][14]
